Recently, I have become acutely aware of intellectual property theft and copyright violations. Until recently, I only experienced the minor side of it, as someone using a graphic of mine and claiming it is theirs. I usually handled such incidents with the consideration of being understanding to those who make false claims but assertive that proper credit is given.
That changed recently. I will not go into details, but a multinational gaming company thought it was acceptable to take three paragraphs and a working published concept and use it as part of their commercial projects. That event was the spawn of my website here.
I have decided to publish my work non-commercially under the Creative Commons License. Soon, I will be pushing out my Special Supplement Z Series in the LBB format (A5) PDFs. It is more of a pride of authorship and ownership than profit. This, of course, with being plastered with the Mongoose Traveller Far Use Policy and boilerplate crap that the lawyers have brought us to. It’s ironic when you take a grand look at it. Nobody had a row over who created copper smelting, the longbow, India ink, wool spinning, or the selective breeding of crop strains. It just shows what greedy little pigs we have become as a civilization
