have always had broad, eclectic tastes in music. Lately, I find myself digging further into desert rock, stoner rock, classic jazz, opera, and, as always, electronica.

Over the last few years, Luttrell has stunned me with his breath and depth of talent. He has produced albums that don’t just contain one or two songs that appeal but whole ensembles of scores that soothe the soul and appeal to creativity. His best albums in my opinion are: Into the Clouds, Lucky Ones, Music for my Memories pt.III.

Sergeant Thunderhoof is a somerset ensemble that churns out roaring harmonic guitars and belts out lyrics that harken back to my past, and yet transcend the years that have a very present-day visionary context. They have produced several great albums: Terra SolusRide the Hoof and This Sceptered Veil. Please don’t pass by the acoustic album, Delicate sound of Thunder either. It fits the occasional mood as well. Greenbeard, Spiral Guru, and Ritual King are bands that churn out stoner rock that is reticent to the 1981 Heavy Metal movie.

When I want to get that 50s and ’60s retro vibe contained in the soundtracks of so many movies and syndicated series, I enjoy a playlist by the composers Les BaxterRobert Drasnin, and Martin Denny of classic retro themes that are cliche these days.

My playlist: Exotica:
